Racing Rain Gear

Last nights workout:

Bike: 7.4 miles in 30:07
4×30 sec static crunch
100 side to sides
2×25 squats

I was going to run last night, but I made the stupid mistake of wearing heels to work on a running day. The ball of my left foot feels absolutely bruised because these particular shoes were quite unforgiving. So, I decided to switch some days around and do my cross training last night.

The bike ended up being a fabulous substitution and I will make sure to wear flats today.

I don’t have a real rain jacket to run in. As you could guess, that is quite problematic for Seattle. I have a couple moisture wicking 1/4 zip long sleeve jackets, but if it’s really raining I would end up soaked and freezing. I asked around, scoured the interwebs, spoke to the MIL and ultimately decided on this beauty:

I had a gift card that covered almost all of the cost, so it only ended up costing like $10! Dang, I love gift cards! Anyways, she will be making an appearance on race day in TWO and a half weeks! I am thinking pink shorts on top of black running tights with white jacket and pink Flair Band… What do you think?

I never got around to fully decorating for Christmas this past weekend, but I DID get one thing out:

Bath and Body Works, for the win! πŸ™‚ I love how adorbs their new candle holders are! My house will be fully decked out this weekend FOR SURE!

Happy hump day everyone!

Merry Christmas to meeeeeee!

Happy Fridayyyy!!! Thank goodness it is here! This has been the longest week EVER.

Tonight, hubs and I are going to carve pumpkins with cousie D. It has been YEARS since I have carved a pumpkin. I am seriously looking forward to it. Oh yes, and can’t forget my Friday pre-long run ritual of pizza and booze. Get here FAST 5 o’clock!

*********************************************************

It is officially getting COLD in Seattle. It has been 41 degrees this whole week when I leave for work in the morning. This So Cal girl just isn’t used to that! So, in order to combat the cold, I have gone on a mini shopping spree for warm clothes (Thanks hubs for supporting my shopping habits).

It all started with needing a new pair of boots. Boots are essential in the PNW. Even more essential than boots, boots that are not suede. No way getting around it. After much browsing, I finally stumbled upon these beauties.

I have black boots and I have cognac boots, so grey boots were imperative to add to my collection. Aren’t they fab? Target. $29.99 + 20% off + $5 off order + free shipping = NECESSARY purchase.

THEN, I was on the lookout for a good pair of riding boots. No, I do not ride horses, but I LOVE that trend right now. Plus, a good FLAT boot is perfect for walking around in the rain… Apparently we get a lot of that wet stuff up here. Once again Target came to my rescue.

$39.99 + 20% off + $5 off order + free shipping = NECESSARY purchase #2.

What is a cute boot without a cute sweater to wear along with it? A waste of a fabulous outfit, that is what. I snagged a couple sweaters from Target too, but only one has made it into my loving arms so far. How adorbs is this?!

$17.99 + 20% off + $5 off order + free shipping = Thank you sir, may I have another.

I have some more things on the way (including running PANTS!). I’ll share as soon as I get them.

When is the last time you have carved a pumpkin?

Have you hopped on the riding boot trend?

Charge ittt!

Last nights workout:
I did a half marathon!!!! On the biiike! πŸ˜‰
13.1 miles in 47:46
Plank A Day
Side to Sides

After two days of running in a row, I decided that I definitely needed a cross training day. Ooh my quads hurt so good.

Besides my little one mile on the bike Monday, my last time on one was probably in high school. I gotta say, it rocks. Believe it or not, my quads are weak. Training for and running two half marathons has not changed that. Yes, they are slimmer and a bit stronger, but we still have a long way to go. I was definition. I think riding the bike can only help get me there.

So, if you have been reading this blog for a while, then you know I am a professional computer geek. In my field, women are rare. Add fashionable onto that list of crieria and the numbers are next to zero. I have to admit, on more than one occasion the industry has gotten to my wardrobe.

I have been stalking reading J’S Everyday Fashion and it has seriously inspired me. I need a major upgrade to my wardrobe. I think it’s time to dress like an adult now. I have been all over the web looking for good deals. I’m kind of obsessed with Express at the moment.

I got ALL of those shirts for $115. No, that is not a typo. If you ever shop at express, then you know they are not cheap. Most of those shirts were between $30-50 normal price. Crazy huh!

After Express, I visited Charlotte Russe.

Then I went to Nordstrom and took advantage of the anniversary sale.

nordstrom purseI got this bag! It is normally $40 but on sale for $25.90 during the anniversary sale. Plus, I had a Nordstrom note. I ended up paying $5.90 for this bag. Uhm, major score.

I have a feeling I am going to feel much better about my wardrobe as soon as my little packages arrive. πŸ™‚

Oh the damage I can do

I have no idea what hubs was thinking when he told me to go get new outfits for work. Bless his sweet sweet heart. It’s not his fault his wife is a lean (or not) mean shopping machine.

To be honest, I think I might do some more damage today too… Shhh. It’s our little secret. πŸ˜‰

My first stop was Nordstrom Rack. Goodness I love that place. I always find shirts that I bought for full price from Nordstrom there. That part is not so fabulous, but getting an amazing deal is.

[Pencil skirt. Normally $118 for $29]

20110610-082922.jpg
[Big Star jeans. Normally $108 for $50 and top from the “I’m a big girl now” department. Normally $60 for $29]

[Most comfy shoes ever for $29. I don’t know how much they normally are for. ]

20110610-083213.jpg
[Viva la juicy perfume. Normally $49 for $35]

Then I made my way to Forever 21. Oh dear that place is such a brilliant mix of awful and horrible clothing.

20110610-083525.jpg
[Top for $22.80 and necklace for $5.80]

I also got another necklace for $3.80 that was too hard to take a picture of. Oh and I got a purple cami for $2.50.

Then I went to Target. Can you say shoes?!

20110610-083827.jpg
[Black pumps that I have had my eyes on for way too long. $29.99]

20110610-083918.jpg
[The most comfortable wedges EVER. Seriously heaven on your feet. $29.99. Pretty cheap for heaven.]

Last but not least, I made a trip to Marshalls.

20110610-022450.jpg
[Spaghetti strap top $12.99]

20110610-022530.jpg
[Tank top $12.99]

20110610-022606.jpg
[Tan-ish Brown-ish sweater $19.99]

Now for the big question… Where can I enhance my wardrobe today?!

Happy Friday everyone. Hubs and I have a fun celebration filled weekend ahead of us. I hope you all have a fun one too!

Where is your go to store to find great deals?
