After taking three solid days completely off after the half, it was definitely time to hit the pavement once again. While my legs are still a little sore, they were ready to move again.
I can’t believe I start working again on Tuesday. I am really excited to be able to meet new people, work for a great company, and be part of an exciting team… But I am worried that my fitness is going to suffer.
At my old job, we had a gym in our building and a great path outside to run on during lunch. There is no gym in my new company and we are located in the heart of downtown Seattle, which doesn’t make it the best place to run. Stopping at lights every two seconds is not my my favorite thing in the world. It is looking like my lunchtime runs will be coming to an end.
Ideally, I would like to work out first thing in the morning but I don’t really feel comfortable running around my house that early. It’s not that I live in a bad area or anything… I just feel more comfortable running when there are people around. It is better to be safe than sorry.
So… I think I have decided that I want my “yay I got a job” gift to myself should be a treadmill. We have a spare guest bedroom that has plenty of room for a treadmill. Then, I would be able to run first thing in the morning or when I get home or any other time without having to worry about it at all. Plus, with all the rain we get here, I will have an alternative to getting soaking wet!
Now it is time to research!
For all you treadmill owners out there… Which one do you have? How does it hold up against continued use?
The race photos are up and I am happy to report that I do not have any disastrous photos like at the San Dieguito half marathon:
That picture still makes me laugh every time!
Luckily, I actually have a smile in my RnR photos!
Oh and can’t forget a closeup of my kick booty race bling!
I can’t wait to add to my collection!
