A lot to be thankful for

Did any one else’s long weekend absolutely fly by? Can we get a do over up in here?!

Thanksgiving Thursday was amazing. At kind of the last minute, hubs and I had to cancel our plans to go out of town, so it was just us two. Hubs ended up having to work all weekend. Poor thing. Such a hardworking man. Luckily, he was able to break away for a bit to have a nice breakfast and dinner.

When we woke up, I made the most freaking delicious (not to toot my own horn or anything but toooooot) French toast casserole.

Uhm, yes… Amazeballs. It was so filling that we just skipped lunch and went straight for dinner next. I went to Pier 1 and got some things to make our table look so romanticle.

On the menu was stuffing, salad, green bean casserole, rolls, and STEAK.

Yeah, we decided to ditch the idea of cooking a turkey. They kinda terrify me. Steak on the other hand, sign me up! It was a wonderful meal. We need to eat at our table more often. We spent the whole time chatting about anything and everything. I seriously love this man.

Ok, I’m done being a sap.

Friday, I went Black Friday shopping… FROM MY COUCH. Stores are giving the same deals online that they give in the store, so why the heck not?!

American Eagle had 40% off of EVERYTHING!

Christmas outfit COMPLETE!

I also seriously scored at personalizationmall.com. They had 30% off the whole store, plus I had a google offer that gave me $40 worth of stuff for $20, plus I had a 10% coupon code, PLUS ebates had 15% cash back! Yeah… I scored.

I also had one of the best runs in a longggg time. I did 3 miles in 31:28 and loved every second of it. Major runners high.

Saturday, I decided to brave the insanity that was downtown Seattle to do some shopping! It also meant I could go to the Seattle Marathon expo! At the expo, I got to see my long lost Ragnar teammate Kim!!

I adore this lady! She is so fab that decorated her race bib just for me!

Yeah, she is rad.

The rest of the weekend was spent cleaning, watching movies, and being ΓΌber lazy. It. Was. Glorious. I also was able to get another kick ass run in on Sunday. 3.2 miles in 33:51. I did some killer intervals but my legs loved going fast. They didn’t want to stop! Gotta love that!

Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend!

Racing Rain Gear

Last nights workout:

Bike: 7.4 miles in 30:07
4×30 sec static crunch
100 side to sides
2×25 squats

I was going to run last night, but I made the stupid mistake of wearing heels to work on a running day. The ball of my left foot feels absolutely bruised because these particular shoes were quite unforgiving. So, I decided to switch some days around and do my cross training last night.

The bike ended up being a fabulous substitution and I will make sure to wear flats today.

I don’t have a real rain jacket to run in. As you could guess, that is quite problematic for Seattle. I have a couple moisture wicking 1/4 zip long sleeve jackets, but if it’s really raining I would end up soaked and freezing. I asked around, scoured the interwebs, spoke to the MIL and ultimately decided on this beauty:

I had a gift card that covered almost all of the cost, so it only ended up costing like $10! Dang, I love gift cards! Anyways, she will be making an appearance on race day in TWO and a half weeks! I am thinking pink shorts on top of black running tights with white jacket and pink Flair Band… What do you think?

I never got around to fully decorating for Christmas this past weekend, but I DID get one thing out:

Bath and Body Works, for the win! πŸ™‚ I love how adorbs their new candle holders are! My house will be fully decked out this weekend FOR SURE!

Happy hump day everyone!

Happy Hallowienerrrr!

OMG this was the most fantastic Halloween ever!! It all started with carving pumpkins…

20111031-204019.jpg

Oh yeah… We know how to carve pumpkins right. A little bit of pizza and a lotta bit of vino does a body good. The final product…

20111031-204221.jpg

Can you guess which one is mine?

Did you say this one?

20111031-204300.jpg
If you didn’t, you need to read my blog more and learn more about me! πŸ™‚

Then, to complete the whole princess theme, I came up with this beauty for my Halloween costume…

20111031-204722.jpg

Oh. YES. I. did!!

Not only did I rock this costume all day long at work, but I also was asked to be present during the trick or treating festivities for the day care in my building. We are talkin LOTS of kids from babies to 4 years old. They were in complete awe.

[me and my princess partner in crime]

The kids didn’t know whether to run up to us or run away. Some were scared and others absolutely loved it. It was SO cool. I took so many pictures with kids. It is something I will never forget.

Then trick or treating at my house commenced. Of course, I still rocked Cindy. One little girl was SO excited about my Cinderella pumpkin and then I opened the door in full costume. Her little eyes got so big. She didn’t know what to do. It was amazing. I seriously wish I could experience that every day.

Most amazing Halloween ever!!!! This costume will officially be repeated EVERY year. Next years addition will be glass slippers! πŸ™‚

How was your Halloween?

Merry Christmas to meeeeeee!

Happy Fridayyyy!!! Thank goodness it is here! This has been the longest week EVER.

Tonight, hubs and I are going to carve pumpkins with cousie D. It has been YEARS since I have carved a pumpkin. I am seriously looking forward to it. Oh yes, and can’t forget my Friday pre-long run ritual of pizza and booze. Get here FAST 5 o’clock!

*********************************************************

It is officially getting COLD in Seattle. It has been 41 degrees this whole week when I leave for work in the morning. This So Cal girl just isn’t used to that! So, in order to combat the cold, I have gone on a mini shopping spree for warm clothes (Thanks hubs for supporting my shopping habits).

It all started with needing a new pair of boots. Boots are essential in the PNW. Even more essential than boots, boots that are not suede. No way getting around it. After much browsing, I finally stumbled upon these beauties.

20111028-085710.jpg

I have black boots and I have cognac boots, so grey boots were imperative to add to my collection. Aren’t they fab? Target. $29.99 + 20% off + $5 off order + free shipping = NECESSARY purchase.

THEN, I was on the lookout for a good pair of riding boots. No, I do not ride horses, but I LOVE that trend right now. Plus, a good FLAT boot is perfect for walking around in the rain… Apparently we get a lot of that wet stuff up here. Once again Target came to my rescue.

20111028-085753.jpg

$39.99 + 20% off + $5 off order + free shipping = NECESSARY purchase #2.

What is a cute boot without a cute sweater to wear along with it? A waste of a fabulous outfit, that is what. I snagged a couple sweaters from Target too, but only one has made it into my loving arms so far. How adorbs is this?!

20111028-085832.jpg

$17.99 + 20% off + $5 off order + free shipping = Thank you sir, may I have another.

I have some more things on the way (including running PANTS!). I’ll share as soon as I get them.

When is the last time you have carved a pumpkin?

Have you hopped on the riding boot trend?
